Trish Bromley TAS
Trish is a Registered General Nurse with Midwifery, Neonatal and Paediatric Certificates. She obtained a Master’s Degree in Education in 2008 from the University of Tasmania.
Trish likes to travel and experience different cultures and has found that nursing is a very mobile profession. She has spent a number of years in the United Kingdom, where she worked in various Neonatal Units in London and Yorkshire. She also worked in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. After completing the Tropical Nursing Course at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine she worked voluntarily for six months in a malnutrition centre just outside Kolkata, India. This involved not only the care of infants that were suffering from malnutrition but also the education of local health-care staff working in the centre. Trish has also managed a day clinic in Harley Street, London for cosmetic surgery, and was a Nurse Advisor for NHS Direct, a national telephone advice line in the UK.
Trish returned to Australia in 2005 and has settled in Hobart. Initially she was employed in the Neonatal & Paediatric Intensive Care Unit at the Royal Hobart Hospital, as a staff nurse then gained the position of Clinical Nurse Educator in 2006-2008. Since 2008 she has been employed by the University of Tasmania in the School of Nursing and Midwifery as a Nurse Lecturer. She is course coordinator for the online units in Neonatal Intensive Care, Special Care Nursery, and Paediatric Intensive Care. She is passionate about Neonatal Nursing and loves having the opportunity to encourage this passion in others.
