Each issue of the NPCHN journal features a summary of a Cochrane Review relevant to neonatal, paediatric or child health nursing. Cochrane reviews evaluate large amounts of data, usually from randomised controlled trials, so that clinicians, patients and policy makers can more clearly access and understand the evidence for and against health care treatments and practices. The summaries are written by Dr Trudi Mannix and Dr Carmel Collins, members of the Cochrane Nursing Care Field, and aim to provide our readers with a succinct and easy to read summary of a Cochrane Review. If you would like to suggest a Cochrane summary topic for an upcoming journal issue, check out the Cochrane site http://cncf.cochrane.org/ and email either Carmel or Trudi with your request. We will then approach the Cochrane Nursing Care Field for permission to write the summary on that topic. Alternatively, if you would like to assist us with a review, email us and let us know.
