Indicative Total Remuneration: $121,191 - $128,298 - Perm F/T - RN/RM3

You will provide the pivotal leadership and coordination of patient care delivery within the Special Care Nursery at Lyell McEwin Hospital, with a focus on achieving continuity and quality of patient care and outcomes and efficient patient flow. You will undertake local resource management within the corporate administrative framework, encompassing recruitment, staffing, leave management, rostering, work allocation and attendance management, financial and supplies planning and monitoring. Along with the management of resources  with due diligence, you will accept accountability for the outcomes of nursing/midwifery practices within the Special Care Nursery, addressing inconsistencies between practice and policy, and developing team performance and a positive work culture in the interest of patient outcomes.

The Lyell McEwin Hospital is regarded as one of the leading maternity hospitals in South Australia, and provides world class obstetric and midwifery care for both low and high risk pregnant women. The LMH is also one  of the few hospitals in the State to be an accredited Baby Friendly Hospital. The Special Care Nursery provides level 5 neonatal care according to the Standards for Maternal and Neonatal Services in South Australia.

You will be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse and/or Midwife by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate. Academic training in Neonatal Intensive Care or Neonatology as well as management skills will be essential. With prior experience in nursing management and leadership roles, you will be capable of giving supervision to student nurses, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses. You will use your effective communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills to maintain a cohesive multidisciplinary team and resolve local or immediate nursing care problems.
