The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Clinical Nurse Facilitator (Practice Development) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 10 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to over 550,000 people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will take responsibility for

  • Level 6 neonatal intensive care experience
  • Working as the Practice Development Facilitator both within the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Special Care Nursery areas of the Newborn Care Unit
  • Having a recognised post graduate qualification in Neonatal Nursing or working towards gaining this qualification and evidence of a commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Understanding the principles of family-centred care and role model a family-centred approach to patient care

Requirements for the role

  • A Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent is a mandatory qualification for this position
  • Registration as a Registered Nurse under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law Act 2009 with a current annual practicing certificate from the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency is essential
  • A Graduate Certificate or greater within a relevant specialty area is highly desirable. Where the successful applicant does not currently hold this qualification, commitment to completion of post-graduate study within an agreed timeframe is expected and will form part of the performance review process

Salary information

  • Permanent part time (56 hrs p.f.)
  • Base salary ranging from $47.68 - $51.05 per hour
  • Up to 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading

About the Newborn Care Unit
The Newborn Care Unit at Gold Coast University Hospital is a part of Women’s, Newborn and Children’s Services and is currently comprised of 9 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) cots and 24 Special Care Nursery cots. The NICU admits babies fulfilling Level 6 Queensland Clinical Services Capability Framework criteria which includes but is not limited to:
