Location: John Hunter Children’s Hospital 

The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at John Hunter Children’s Hospital in beautiful Newcastle, is one of the largest and busiest NICU’s in NSW. This 43 bed unit provides Intensive Care support for newborns requiring medical and surgical care in the HNE and Mid North Coast area. 

An opportunity exists for an enthusiastic, reliable, skilled neonatal nurse who is committed to providing excellent family centred care to join a dynamic, passionate team of Health Professionals, in a newly refurbished, state-of-the-art Unit, with the latest health care technology. 

Within your role you will provide safe compassionate person centred care within the NICU ensuring safe care is delivered in collaboration with patients/families/carers and multidisciplinary team to achieve identified goals and outcomes. 

You will bring your extensive experience in Neonatal Nursing and will be a self-motivated, flexible, adaptable, empathetic and resilient individual who is demonstrated commitment to evidenced based clinical practice. Your high level communication skills, both verbal and written, and an understanding/qualifications in adult learning principles, and demonstrated teaching ability are key to your success. 

You will be supported by the NICU Nurse Unit Manager’s, NICU Nurse educator and Manager Newborn Services and appropriate orientation and education to the role will be provided.
