An opportunity exists for a motivated individual to join the Maternity Department in our progressive Special Care Nursery as a Speciality trained Registered Nurse. The Special Care trained Nurse is responsible for providing quality, compassionate care for sick neonate's and be a support and educator of the neonate's family. This is a Permanent Full Time role at 80 hours per fortnight.

The successful applicant will have experience in Paediatric, Neonatal in a level 4 High Dependency Unit and /or child health nursing. Neonatal Intensive skills are required in this position as a Regional Hospital Level 5 Maternity and Level 4 Special Care Nursery we care for infants from 32 weeks gestation onwards. We also stabilise and prepare neonates for transfer to Tertiary Hospitals below this gestation with the support of PIPER.

Applicants should also have a current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as a Registered Nurse and at minimum 2 year post qualification experience with neonates. A sound knowledge of computer based software applications including Word/Excel/database management systems is also required.
