About the Opportunity 
Our Neonatal Unit includes 22 NICU cots, 28 Special Care Nursery cots, and coordinates the Neonatal Retrieval and Transport Service for the region — offering a dynamic, high acuity environment where advanced clinical leadership truly matters. 

As the Clinical Nurse Consultant, you will be at the forefront of driving excellence in neonatal nursing. You will lead practice standards, mentor and develop staff, and champion quality, safety, and evidence-based care. Working closely with a highly skilled multidisciplinary team, you will influence clinical education, guideline development, and service improvement initiatives that shape the future of neonatal care in North Queensland. 

What You’ll Be Doing 

  • Leading neonatal nursing practice through expert clinical guidance and mentorship 
  • Embedding quality and safety frameworks that support exceptional care 
  • Supporting staff development through education, supervision, and neonatal competency facilitation 
  • Collaborating across disciplines to enhance guidelines, policies, and service delivery 
  • Advocating for infants and families through a strong commitment to family-centred care

  • Remuneration package up to $169,637p.a. 
  • Base salary $ 136,538 - $148,242 p.a. (Nurse Grade 7) 
  • 17.5% recreational leave loading 
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution 
  • Permanent full-time, 76 hours per fortnight
