The annual Recharge & Reconnect Workshop hosted by the NNP SIG will be held on
Monday 3 March 2025 from 8am to 5pm.
The workshop will be held at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital, Level 4, Room MIP94.

Cost - ACNN members $80; non-members $100 (member rate applied on logging in) - includes workshop catering. Dinner not included - own

Presenters:
Adjunct Professor Chris Raftery: Chris is a national healthcare leader, Nurse Practitioner and Director of Advanced
Practice at Gold Coast Health. He is a former national president of the Australian College of Nurse Practitioners, current board
director of the Australian College of Nursing, inaugural chair of the Queensland State-wide Nurse Practitioner Advisory Group, past deputy
chair of the Queensland Clinical Senate and member of the ANMAC NP advisory and PSR committees. He is an adjunct professor at
Griffith University, Queensland University of Technology and Monash University, as well as fellow of the ACNP, ACN and ACHSM. Having
broad clinical and systems leadership experience and influence across the sector, Chris is a leading national identity with regard to
health economics and the development of advanced practice nursing, informing policy, workforce and health system reform.

Dr Joy Domingo-Bates: Dr
Joy Domingo-Bates has been a neonatologist since 2019. She is a Neonatologist at Sunshine Coast University Hospital and Logan Hospital in
Queensland. She used to work in the NICU of Nepean Hospital (NSW) and the Mater Hospital (Brisbane). Joy completed her paediatric and
neonatal training at the Mater Hospital and RBWH. She has gained extensive skills and expertise in treating extremely preterm and complex
medical conditions of newborns. In addition, she has significant experience and a passion for clinical education and simulation. She
completed a graduate certificate in Clinical Education from Flinders University and a Neonatal Simulation Fellowship through Mater
Education, accredited by Central Medical Simulation in Boston, USA. She was highly involved with the RACP Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine
training, Queensland neonatal education and training, Neonatal Resuscitation courses, and the Mater NCCU simulation and education sessions.
Her interests are in interprofessional collaboration, health professional education and mentoring, and simulation-based training in human factors and teamwork. She uses simulation methodology and human factors expertise to assess and improve all facets of healthcare delivery. She uses simulations to emulate real-world scenarios to mitigate risk, enhance the experiences of patients and staff, and reduce costs.
Dr Domingo-Bates is also passionate about quality improvement projects and activities in the neonatal unit. Her clinical practice is described as patient-centred and family-oriented care.
In her free time, she enjoys travelling and spending time with her family and their furry baby.
