About us
Our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) provides tertiary-level care for
newborns across the region—including preterm infants, post-surgical neonates, those with congenital anomalies, and critically unwell
newborns. With 22 NICU and 28 Special Care Nursery (SCN) cots, we are also home to the Neonatal Retrieval/Transport Service for North
Queensland.
The opportunity
We are seeking a dynamic Clinical Nurse Consultant
to lead clinical excellence and shape the quality and future of neonatal care. You’ll be instrumental in:
- Leading clinical support, education, training, and mentorship across the nursing team
- Championing evidence-based family-centred neonatal care
- Driving standards through audits, reviews, clinical analysis, and reporting
- Providing expert input into neurodevelopmental care, complex case management, and neonatal intensive care practices
- Collaborating in strategic planning, policy development, and clinical governance

What’s on offer?
Permanent full-time, 76 hours per fortnight.
Remuneration package of up to $164,696 p.a., comprising base salary range of $132,562 - $143,924 p.a. (+ applicable allowances/benefits) (Nurse Grade 7), recreational leave loading (17.5%), and employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%).
