The call for abstracts has now closed. 

Presenters Awards 

Members presenters’ awards form part of the National Conference and are awarded in four categories (dependent on eligible presenters in each category and if the presentation judged to be given an award): best new presenter, best oral, best poster, and best poster - audience choice. These awards are to the value of between $500 and $1000 and can be used towards attendance at a future ACNN conference. 

During the abstract submission process, presenters will be asked the following questions which will determine eligibility for consideration of an award and for which category/categories

  1. Have you ever presented an oral paper or a poster at a National or International conference virtually or in person?
  2. If yes, was this within the last 3-years?
  3. Are you working towards a postgraduate degree or within three (3) years of completing a postgraduate degree?

Abstracts accepted for:

  • Case studies
  • Clinical practice or QI activities
  • Quantitative research (e.g., clinical & bench research; systematic reviews)
  • Qualitative research (e.g., interviews, scoping reviews, literature reviews)

In summary - abstracts MUST comprise the following elements:

  1. Title: 15 words or less. NOT in all capitals - capitalised as appropriate 

  2. Authors: Authors' names should be supplied in the family name - first name initial format. Not All Capitals. Please underline the presenting author.

  3. Affiliation: Institutional affiliations should be indicated with superscript numbers following the authors initial. All affiliations should contain institution, city and State.

           Example: New, K1,2 & Ng, L2

           1 Royal Brisbane & Women's Hospital, Brisbane; 2The University of Queensland, Brisbane

       4. Abstract text:

  • Must be written in English. Please check for spelling and grammar errors.
  • An official abstract template must be used. 
  • The body of the abstract must not exceed 250 words.
  • Use of printing enhancements such as different fonts, underlining, italics (except for foreign words or               scientific names where necessary) are not to be used. 
  • Select a modern sans serif family font (Calibra), Font size 11 or 12, single spaced
  • Do not include references in the abstract
  • Pictures/diagrams/figures: Abstracts cannot include pictures/diagrams/figures.
